Card 13 – Bye!!

21 May

I am currently doing a Fellowship at my former school and it was supposed to end next Friday. But they have extended it yet again…YAY!!! I will have another month of work experience and paychecks. These amazing news immediately prompted a small order from Ellen Huston LLC – more patterned paper [3 pads!], Maya Road pins, Hero Arts heartwinged butterfly stamp [Thanks Jennifer McGuire!], and Ranger white gel pen [I blame Kristina Werner for this, actually for the paper too =) ].

Anyhoo, in anticipation of me leaving my job, I was making cards for my co-workers and bosses. I was kind of cutting it close too, because I was overthinking everything. But now I have more time – yay! This is one of the cards I already made. It will be going to a co-worker who is extremely kind, generous, and silly. We had so many giggle-fit sessions after 4:30pm, just laughing about nonsense. He really cheers me up when needed, so I made him this silly card. I think he’ll totally appreciate it.

I cut out a scalloped circle with nesties in the front cover and cut another out as well. Stamped the cat on the circle, colored it with Sharpies and used 3D foam adhesive and taped it to the inside of the card. The hills were handcut and embossed with the Cuttlebug. Sentiment is made with glitter thickers.

What I Used:

Cardstock – Amuse clouds; Reflections Christmas pack
Stamp – Penny Black
Ink – Archival by Ranger
Other – American Crafts glitter thickers, Sharpie markers, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder

Card 8 – Little Girl Birthday

4 May

One of my faves!! This was made for a little girl who was turning 2 years old. I honestly did not want to give this away, I even started to make another card for her, but stopped. Part of the reason I got into cardmaking is to share with people my creations, not hoard them. So I stopped myself. Besides, I can always admire it on the blog =)

The process is self-explanatory, but I just wanted to tell you about the giraffe. He was stamped on the white c/s and then paper-pieced. The I took liquid applique, colored in the spots and heated them from the backside with a heat-gun. The effect is so amazing and he really looks 3D! To give him even more dimension I popped him on 3D dots. *love*

Cardstock – Paper Reflections
DP – Me & My Big Ideas
Stamps – Stampendous! and TPC Greetings [inside the card]
Ink – Archival black
Adhesive – Tombow Mono permanent; Zots glue dots, 3D pop dots by Plaid
Other – Fiscars corner-rounder 1/4 inch; liquid applique; cuttlebug dots embossing folder; nestabilities; ribbon and rhinestones from Michael’s, MS butterfly punch

Have a Stamperrific Day!!

Card 7 – Mother’s Day Meow

3 May

Back to Mother’s Day. I am not sure who this one is going to, but the recipient will definitely be one hot mama – MEOW!!! I got some new grosgrain ribbon I wanted to play with and the color combination has been on my mind for a while. In fact, I forsee a few yellow/red/black/white cards in my future.
Anddddd….if you’re looking for a good gold embossing powder, this one is superb! It covered the large surface perfectly, minimal fall-out, and it has sparse glitter pieces in that add some amazing extra oomph! Yum!
